Full Metal Alchemist Inspires New Cosplay Costumes

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is being released in a series of 64 episodes packed with action, adventure, comedy, drama, mystery, super powers and fantasy. Fans are buzzing around the internet giving the new series rave reviews, stating that the 64 new episodes follow the storyline of the best-selling manga even more closely than the first movie it inspired.

As Wikipedia sums it up, the story is set in a fictional universe within the 20th Century in which alchemy is one of the most advanced scientific techniques known to man. Although Full Metal Alchemist first gained attention in the early 2000’s, it seems to have experienced a new surge of popularity as The Brotherhood was released. Melissa Harper from Anime News Network noted that “the series and characters grow in complexity as [they] progress.” Fans seem to be enjoying this progression.

What’s more? OtakuUSA is calling Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood “the most anticipated new anime in years.” This new series with its all new story line is heavily inspiring new anime and cosplay enthusiasts to dream up custom cosplay costumes inspired by its brand new characters.

Hiromu Arakawa, the author of Full Metal Alchemist anime and manga series is said to have integrated several social problems into the it’s storyline, often after speaking to people who have suffered through them in real life. She interviewed people like war veterans, military personnel, refuges, and former yakuza. Arakawa’s interesting approach to creating the story has made for a fictional cast of mature, sophisticated, and complex characters that anime convention goers are thrilled to emulate. In true “full circle” fashion, art imitating life, is now calling for life to imitate art through real life cosplay costumes.
