From Superheroes to Scary or Sci Fi



In addition to all the fabulous anime and cosplay cons we mentioned in our previous post for Memorial Day Weekend, there are also a handful of Comicons, Horror and Sci-Fi and Fantasy cons that offer the chance don the costumes of your favorite characters.

If you’re in North Carolina, as we are, you can check out:

ConCarolinas, Sci-Fi/Fantasy con, June 3 – 5, Charlotte, NC (Hilton Charlotte University Place) - a multi-genre multi-media convention covering all speculative fiction - science fiction, fantasy and horror with gaming, discussion panels, costume events, and music events.

HeroesCon, June 3- 5 Charlotte, NC (Charlotte Convention Center) - one of the largest independent comic book conventions in the United States, as well as the oldest event still taking place is organized by Shelton Drum, owner of Charlotte comic book store Heroes Aren't Hard To Find.

As we said before, this multi-genre con, has tons for anime and cosplay fans. But their guest list is astounding with the actors who played characters like Spock AND Sulu, Lando Calrissian, Elvira, and Tron himself, Ghostbuster Winston Zeddemore, Firefly’s Jayne Cobb, Buffy’s Xander, True Blood (and Fangtasia’s) Pam, Star Trek’s Wesley Crusher and Tom Paris, and Stan Lee!

Spooky Empire's May-Hem, May 27 – 29, Orlando, FL has guests Bruce Campbell and Anthony Michael Hall, and a zombie costume contest!

CONduit, science fiction and fantasy convention has an anime room, costuming panels and a masquerade.

OASIS, May 27 – 29, Orlando, FL, Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention has a masquerade and a charity auction.

TimeGate - May 27 – 29, Atlanta, GA, science fiction / fantasy convention focuses on Doctor Who and Stargate but also includes programming on Star Trek, Battlestar, Star Wars, Heroes, literary, horror and comics programming too, along with a masquerade!
